You’re a sweet big sister, for buying all of Kira’s favorite things. How thoughtful of you!

lol @ don’t even try to watch the big TV on the day of granddad’s game. lol, i know thats right!

So funny, i come from such a huge sports family as well…. yet, i just never got with it. I dunno why. I wish i could enjoy sports more and be as passionate as ya’all. Ehh well. With that said, I still wanna answer the question. In my humble, limited-knowledge-of-sports-politics, opinion… I think Lebron is a free agent and entitled to do whatever and go where-ever. Not sure why there’s this big upset. He owes noone anything!

I think I took to sports more than my sister or other girl cousins because I really stayed up under my daddy. I wasn’t a tom-boy, but I was more inclined to chill with the adults.

I love the drama that Lebron has caused with this, I can’t wait for Tati to chime in *looks over at Tati* – she said it’s nothing more than a modern day slave auction! lmao

    1. Simply lemonade is the best! Simply is the absolute best juice, ever.
    2. I love greens with smoked turkey.
    3. When I read Dan Gilbert’s letter I heard “I bust the windows outcha car” in my head and saw the scene in Waiting to Exhale when Angela Basset burned the car up. Gilbert was very woman scorned. He wasn’t prepared for the man he loved to leave him. There’s no way to prepare yourself to lose the one you love.

He’s a free man and after 7 years there was no growth on the part of the team. I blame Dan Gilbert for LeBron leaving, I also blame him for allowing his player to get bigger than the entire team. I’ll be watching Cleveland real estate to see how big an impact LeBron’s decision has on the city’s economy.

I’m a Laker fan so I’m excited about this new season. I’ll cry if Derek Fisher signs with the Heat. I will cry real tears.

Yeah, major drama! I have to admit, this whole thing has even a non-sports fan like me engaged. Well I understand a little bit more about the situation now after talking to Derek. So my views have expanded a little. While I still think he’s entitled to go where he wants to go, I think the way he went about it was a lil shady and a bit immature. But I think it’s just been a reminder to folks that, even though he may “look” like a 45 year old man, he is only a 25 y/o kid…. and kids dont always exercise the best judgment.

  5. Tee says:

Yakini, I completely agree that the TV spectacle was completely unnecessary and at the very least he could have given his former team and teammates the heads up before crushing their spirits on TV like that. I put a lot of the blame on him not only being 25, but also the agents and PR people in his ear telling him how great it will be. LOL, his people even hired one of the “reporters.” LOL @ looking 45.

  6. Yakini says:

Right!!!! @ Tee. You’d have thought after being with his team for all this time he would have showed them just a tiny bit more consideration.

Someone in my FB feed posted a quote, if I remember correctly – he may have gotten it from something Shaq said, it went along the lines of…”When owners release players, they say it’s about business. When players leave – they talk about loyalty”. Those weren’t his exact words, but it was something along those lines and I totally agree with him.

Owners & team management trade and release players at the drop of a dime as it suits their business needs…I see it being no different.

Granted, EYE wouldn’t quit a job without giving a 2 weeks notice and extend the professional courtesy of telling my mgmt team…I’m also not the “Lebron James” of my industry if you know what I mean.

I L-O-V-E-D the spectacle of it all because to me it was a smart business maneuver. Lebron may end up getting less money by signing with the Heat, but the whole dog and pony show that he and his people put on probably doubled his stock value! Not only that, but there was that huge 500k donation to the Boys & Girls Club as result.

I give LBJ much love lol

I was rolling when I read the Color Purple line for real. I mean really?!!! I’ve always been a b-ball fan but I am def going to be watching even more now!!! Q

  9. nabs says:

i echo ur sentiments. and who cares that it was a debauchery (sp)…as u indicated, his doing it the way he did resulted in a huge donation to the boys and girls club.

and i applaud lebron for doing what was best for HIM…not cleveland, not anyone else. he has to live with himself in the end. bump loyalty. whatev!!

and lol @ the beyonce reference.
